Letter from a sister in his new area...

Hello Sister Brimhall,

I live in the Benson Hill Ward, Renton WA Stake where your son is now serving! He was over here less than an hour ago, directly from the library and transfers. His companion, Elder Buckway, brought him over for haircuts right after they took care of their emailing. Now they are back at their apartment. They will be heading over to the Lim's house this evening. I'm sure you will hear from them, he serves as our enthusiastic ward mission leader and they love missionaries!
It was a pleasure meeting your son. I am very impressed. He is nice, polite, and eager to get to work in the Benson Hill Ward. The two of them already seem like they are getting along very well and there are some people in the current teaching pool with whom they will be able to work. Apparently our Mission is getting more cars in the fleet, so not many elders are on bikes anymore. You can see the car they get to drive. (and yes, it is raining) :)
We have five children, our oldest son served in the CA Ventura Mission and our youngest son is currently serving in the Utah St. George Mission. He loves it! Utah missions are unique in that each pair of missionaries will cover a large area, usually an entire stake. He loves missionary work, the beauty of Utah, and the people.
I can tell your son has a strong testimony of the gospel and is really enjoying missionary labors. He seems optimistic. As a mother, I would say he looks good and healthy! I reminded them that there are some bad viruses going around and to wash hands often.

Thanks for sending your son up our way. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help him or you - I especially enjoy taking photos, so if there's anything you would like a photo of, let me know. If he has a birthday coming up, let me know. We have a great ward, very supportive of the missionaries.

What's up guys????? So to answer you all... Yes I love my new area and my companion! The ward is great and the area has so much potential, and my companion and I get along really well! This week was probably the most successful week of my mission so far. I mean we didn't get any baptisms or anything like that, but we had 24 lessons this week and Got really spiritual with some peopl, it was awesome! So yes I got the pants and 2 out of the four fit me great! good snags! The other two don't fit, but that's okay haha I'll be just fine. Oh and to answer your question from last week mom, I didn't quite finish the Book of Mormon before Christmas, but I did finish before the end of the year haha so I at least got that done! I started the Book of Mormon over, and now I'm reading the New Testament, as well as Jesus the Christ. I'm Still in first Nephi in the BOM, I'm almost through Mark in the ew Testament, and I'm on like page 290 in Jesus the Christ. All in all it makes for some awesome studies, all testifying of our dear and beloved Savior. I ove reading about Him haha I hate to read generally, but I love to read about Jesus. We have some good investigators that we're teaching and hoping that two of them will be baptized in th next few weeks. Oh by the way, I'm probably sending my Ukulele, kendama, and harmonica home this week. My companion and I decided that anything disobedient or distracting needs to be taken out of the picture so that us and our investigators can be blessed. So if you get those soon don't be surprised. I wish I could send you guys lots of pictures, but it would take like freaking forever haha because of these dumb computers. I have been trying to figure out the picture thing, but I just can't figure it out..... Well I love you guys so so much! I hope you all have a great week this week! Keep showing the Lord your courage and determination to do what's right! Not that I think any of you aren't doing what's right, I just thought a nice reminder is good once in a while! Keep reading scriptures every night as a family. Trust me, you may not think so, but family scripture study will make a big impact on you. Remember this Trey, and Bryce, and even the Dish, When you leave home to go to college or a mission or anything, you will look back on those experiences and cherish them. You will wish you had more of them to reflect on and to build the rest of your life ahead of you on. Trust me. I know you like to hang with your buddies, and play games, and watch movies, but the more spiritual time you spend with your family, the less you look back and say "Hey, I wish I would have put down the controller and read scriptures with my family.." It will strengthen your testimony. I love you all so much! Have a good week and find your strength in the Lord God almighty!!!!

Hey fam!! How ya'll doin?? Good! First off I just want to say congratulations to you Dad on getting the delicious privelege to shower Nana haha!! Sweet! So I got transferred :( :( man that was so depressing. It was like leaving home all over again. I had to go say goodbye to my families - The Wood's, the Condie's, the Eberdongs... so sad, but I have heard some pretty great things about my new area so that made it exciting for me! My new ward is called Benson Hill and I'm in the city of Renton, which isn't too far from Federal Way so it's all good, I've been through Renton a few times. My new companion is named Elder Buckway. I've heard great things about him, Everyone around me was like " Elder Buckway! That's awesome you're gonna love it!" so that's good too. He seems like a pretty cool guy. Not sure where he's from yet haha. That's so cool that Bella got her call!! She's gonna love being a missionary so much!! The way I see it is, you may regret it or you may not if you don't go, but if you do go, you'll never ever regret it! Tell Nana and papa I love them and miss them and that I'm so sorry I could send them a letter last week like I was suppose to! There's no excuses, but we got caught up at the church way longer than I thought and then P-day was over and we aren't allowed to write on not pday haha. Oh just found out Elder Buckway is from Centerville Utah! "So anyways, I was wondering if you would join me in my quarters this night.. for some toast..." haha love that show so much haha! As for my bad week after Christmas, it was a mix of a whole lot of things, but don't worry, I'm all better now, I'm doing really well:) I love you guys! Hope you have a great week and I'll talk to you next week! Love you!

Happy New Year 2013!

Hey guys!!
So talking to all of you has definitely been the highlight of my week! haha but after Christmas came probably the worst and most stressful week of my entire life.I don't mean to complain ( the Lord's getting enough of that from me already haha ) but I really have had possibly the roughest week of my life. Just thought I'd let ya'll know, but I'm really trying to keep a happy countenance. The Savior says in D&C 121 "Peace my son, thine afflictions shall be but a small moment. And if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high." I've taken great comfort and strength from that scripture this week as to be able to build up my might and push on through the Lord's work. Anyways, that's how I've been this week! Tell nana that i love her very much and that I'm praying for her. That's super lame that she got hurt! So about the wingers sauce i told you about. The measurements are about this: 1 cup of Frank's red hot sauce, 2 cups of brown sugar, and about a tablespoon of melted butter, maybe a smidge more if you want it creamier. Oh things I need, If you could send me a couple of items that would be awesome! First is my baseball glove, please?? I would super appreciate it. And second, if you could get me a one-piece garment for "one-piece wednesdays" that would be amazing too! This sunday is transfer calls, not looking forward to it! can't believe I'm already done with transfer 3! Ridiculous! Okay well that's all I've got for today guys! Love you all so much!! Have a wonderful week! TTYL!

Dear Fam,
Love, Bailey :)
Just kidding! So this week was okay! Not great haha, but I guess they can't all be great eh? That's sweet that you're in the deacons quorum presidency bruce! And I'm super glad to hear that Kayla's mom is doing okay! I'm also way glad that work is still going well. Haha well about the music thing Dad, haha thanks for doing that. We'll see what the future holds for me with a career, but it's good to know someone likes my music haha! So with our investigators this week things have been rough, like almost all of our investigators have stopped progressing, and yet the Lord has still blessed us. There is a fourteen year old girl in the ward who has been coming for a long time, but was never baptized, but she came and asked us yesterday if we would give her the lessons and baptize her in like a week haha! So hopefully we'll have a convert baptism this saturday! Haha yes I got the box! Thank you so much!! That pillow in divinely lucious against my cheeks haha, and I've used my hot cocoa and mug like a hundred times already, and I'm wearing the belt and tie you sent me right now haha! P.s. Tell grandma and grandpa thank you so much for the gift cards! haha the clue on there wasn't exactly an easy one haha but I still guessed it right! And please also tell them that I should be sending them a letter soon! So we has two christmas parties this week! On thursday we had a half-mission wide party, so that was fun cause I got to see all my friends and missionaries that I love who have been transfered within the last couple transfers! We had a big dinner and then watched a movie! We got to watch 17 Miracles! Sooooooo good! Man I love that movie! And on saturday we had the ward party and that was fun! There were lots of musical numbers! Our ward My companion and I sang a mash up of the first noel and oh come all ye faithful, but i had to make up piano music that would match both songs haha. Sis. Condie was like "Wow, that was beautiful piano music! Who's arrangement was that??" haha I'm all " uh.... mine haha" it was pretty funny! Anyways that's about all that happened this week! Love you all so so much!! have a wonderful week fam!! Love you so much!

WHAT THE FETCH???? When did Bryce and Sis get so dang good at the piano?? Good job guys, keep practicing, trust me you'll be glad you did! Sounds like a chaotic season this year, as always haha! But that's what makes it fun most of the time anyways haha! We have had a pretty good week! Found some potential investigators and hopefully can get them baptized by the end of the year!! Oh man that's rough trey, I'll for sure keep her in my prayers dude. I haven't gotten my box from the mission office yet, but it's not my fault haha it's the zone leaders that have to go get everyone's stuff but it's super far away from our zone so they don't go very often! But I'm sure I'll get it soon! I'm spending Christmas with like my favorite family in the ward so I'm so stoked!! The Condie family!! Sweet! Speaking of the condie's, mom sister condie emailed you like 2 months ago, but she said you didn't email back, so I thought maybe you just didn't get it, but yeah her name is Jeanne condie. Pronounced like Janae haha, but it's spelled jeanne haha. Anyways... things are good. I think I'm gonna go play basketball in just a little bit so that should be fun! I'm so flippin sore haha cause we have been wrestling to keep in shape and Elder Pacheco was a wrestler in high school so I get my butt kicked most of the time, but I'm getting better and better! well that's all for this week! love you all, have a good week!! Talk to ya in a couple weeks on Christmas!!!

How's It goin fam??
Sounds like you guys had a pretty good week!! So mom i sent out your christmas gift today, but you can't open it until christmas!! But I didn't know about my account balance and I accidentally used my card today I'm so sorry!! So this week was a lot of fun. So there's this little 8 year old girl in my ward named Kathy and she has no dad and her mom just started coming back to church, but anyways Kathy's baptism was on saturday and she asked me to baptize her, so that was nice! Hey trey I'm sorry you're sick bro but I'll be prayin for you so get better k?? Hey please tell Christian that I'm so proud of him for making these tough, but necessary changes in his life. Tell him I love him a lot and that my advice for him if he wants to rekindle that relationship with the Lord, is to go on a mission as soon as he possibly can. If I may, I'd like to bear brief testimony to Christian and you guys too. I know first hand that representing Christ for 2 years is the best and quickest way to boost your testimony and love for our beloved Redeemer. This mission just over the last few months has changed my life in ways I didn't know were even possible. I know that it's hard to leave trust me. Been there. I think about how hard it was, and still is, every single day; but I know that not going on this mission would have been one of the biggest mistakes and regrets I could ever have, and if he doesn't go, it will be one of the biggest regrets he'll ever have. I know it. I know that this Gospel is truly the Lord's Kingdom re-established here on the earth by our loving Heavenly Father through a living prophet. Read from the Book of Mormon as much as you possibly can. Joseph Smith wasn't joking when he said that "a man will come nearer to God by reading the Book of Mormon than by any other book". I love it. It has brought more peace to my soul than anything else save MAYBE prayer alone, in the past few months. Read it, pray fervently about it and it's teachings, and love it with all you've got. I know that Jesus is our Savior. I know that we have Heavenly Parents who love us and are intricately and intimately involved in the smallest details of our lives. I am so honored and blessed to share my name with the Lord, God of Israel. I love Jesus Christ with all my heart. He is indeed a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense. I am so grateful that for 2 short years I can place his name next to mine visibly. And I leave that testimony in His solemn and sacred name, Amen. I love you Fam. I can't wait to here from all of you in a few short weeks on the phone! I cant believe it's been almost four months already! Crazy eh?? Have a great week guys! I love you a lot.
